Lestari- Director of Seametrey Children's Village
Lestari is from Indonesia and has lived in a few different countries. In 2003, she was looking to volunteer and found Seametrey Children’s Village. She was the first long term volunteer staying the whole year from 2003 to 2004, working with the very young children given that back then, Seametrey only had the nursery school. She left to live in South Africa but always kept in touch with Muoy who, in 2015, invited her to rejoin as she had moved the school to Tonle Bati, with more students from the surrounding villages.
Lestari went back to Cambodia in September of 2015 and she hasn’t left since. After Muoy passed away in October of 2022, Lestari has been in charge of the school, becoming the new director and the most capable person to run Muoy’s legacy, as she always wished.
